When can we leave?

É o nosso segundo confinamento. Depois de um registo de contágio por covid 19 altíssimo em que todos sabem porquê, mas fingem não saber, voltámos para casa. Confinados!

It is our second confinement. After a record of contagion by covid 19 in which everyone knows why, but pretends not to know, we returned home. Confined!

Já lá vão 54 dias de restrições. Saídas só para o essencial.

There are already 54 days of restrictions. Exits only for the essentials.

Onde fica a fotografia nisto? bom, para mim (Sara) não fica! O confinamento para mim dá origem a demasiadas oscilações no humor. Acho que falo em nome de muitas pessoas que usam a criatividade no seu próprio trabalho. Não apetece sequer pegar na máquina fotográfica, muito menos usar um “passeio higiénico para fotografar”. Será que podemos?

Where is the photography in this? well for me (Sara) I don’t know! Confinement gives me too many mood swings. I think I speak for many people who use creativity in their own work. You don’t even want to take the camera out, much less use a “hygienic walk to photograph”. Can we?

Dou por mim a imaginar um polícia a dirigir-se a mim e dizer:
– Olhe, menina! o que está a fazer? tem de ir para casa.
Isto se for simpático. Senão lá vai multa!

I find myself imagining a police officer addressing me and saying:
Look, miss! What are you doing? you have to go home.
This, if he is nice. Otherwise there will be a fine!

Bom, pelo menos em Lisboa eles andam pelas ruas e já os vi a avisar pessoas que estão sentadas em bancos.

Well, at least in Lisbon they walk the streets and I’ve seen them warn people who are sitting on benches.

Estou a divagar!

I’m rambling!

Apesar de estarmos mais preparados sobre o vírus e de sabermos agir, engane-se quem achou que este novo confinamento ia ser mais simples. Nop!

Although we are more prepared about the virus and know how to act. Wrong who thought this new confinement was going to be simpler. Nop!

E não vou falar sobre as preocupações sobre o trabalho que aí já é visível no número de cabelos brancos que tenho ao fim de 33 anos de vida. Dou por mim a pensar em todos os negócios e em todas as pessoas que se vem de mãos atadas por não conseguirem fazer nada pelo seu trabalho.
Mais um cabelo branco.

And I am not going to talk about the concerns about work that is already visible in the number of white hairs that I have after 33 years of life. I find myself thinking about all the business and all the people who have their hands tied for not being able to do anything for their work.

Estava a ver todos os rolos que já fotografei, mas que ainda não tinha publicado ou divulgado. Encontrei um algumas fotografias do primeiro passeio que fizemos os dois, já depois do levantamento das restrições. Penso que o primeiro e foi pela baixa de Lisboa.

I was looking at all the film that I have already photographed, but that I had not yet published. I found a few pictures of the first tour that we both did, already after lifting restrictions. I think the first one was downtown Lisbon.

Primeira coisa a reparar. O trânsito! ZERO. Segunda coisa. Turistas! Zero.

First thing to notice. The traffic! ZERO. Second thing. Tourists! Zero

Com tantas restrições nos voos entre países e com os hotéis ainda a reabrirem, não havia turistas na baixa. Foi o passeio mais “Clean” que dei desde que vivo em Lisboa.

With so many restrictions on flights between countries and with hotels still reopening, there were no tourists downtown. It was the most “clean” tour I have taken since I live in Lisbon.

Vamos relembrar.
